We recently completed an extensive home renovation project in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, for a homeowner whose residence suffered a significant electrical fire. The fire, which originated on the second floor, caused substantial damage, requiring a complete demolition of the entire upper level down to the floor joists.
Our team began by removing all fire-damaged materials and replacing the second-floor joists to ensure a solid structural foundation. Following the demolition and cleanup phase, we commenced the reconstruction process, meticulously framing the entire second floor according to the homeowner’s vision. Excitingly, the project evolved to include the addition of two new bedrooms and two walk-in closets on the second floor, expanding the home’s living space.
With the new layout framed, we proceeded with the installation of the roof, siding, windows, and doors, effectively enclosing and weatherproofing the expanded structure. Due to the addition of the new rooms, the chimney also required an extension to meet safety and building codes.
The interior transformation then began, starting with drywall and insulation to create comfortable and energy-efficient spaces. After painting, we moved on to the interior finishes, installing new flooring, countertops, and cabinets throughout the renovated and expanded areas. A crucial aspect of this project was a complete rewiring of the entire home, including the replacement of the electrical box, ensuring the safety and functionality of the electrical system.
This comprehensive renovation has not only restored the homeowner’s property but has also provided her with a beautifully expanded and modernized living environment. We are incredibly proud of the work our team accomplished in bringing this home back to life.
