Project Details
For this basement finishing project in Hanover, PA, we’ve transformed an unfinished 1,250 sq ft basement into a comfortable and functional living space. The project began with installing rigid insulation boards along the concrete foundation walls, followed by full framing throughout to improve energy efficiency and prepare the space for finishing.
The completed basement includes two bedroom additions with closets, a small office area, and a full bathroom addition featuring a fiberglass stand-in shower with a sliding door and a compact vanity. An egress window was installed to meet code requirements and bring natural light into the basement bedrooms.
To maximize storage while keeping the space organized, we added multiple storage closets with bifold doors throughout the basement. The main living area was left open, creating a versatile space for everyday living or entertaining.
We finished the basement with luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout, including the stairway, and installed a drop ceiling across most of the space. Select areas were boxed out as needed to accommodate ductwork, plumbing, and vents. The result is a clean, modern finished basement that adds both usable square footage and long-term value to the home.
